The Austin High Softball program has officially punched its ticket to the 2026 UIL State Playoffs! This season marks a massive step forward for the Maroons, as they finished with a solid 6-6 district record to secure the 4th seed in the highly competitive District 26-6A.
This isn’t just another playoff appearance—it is a major milestone for the program. This is the first time since 2017 that the Maroons have reached the postseason. After years of building, Coach Lozano and this squad have restored the standard of excellence for Austin High softball.
The strength of this team is reflected in its veteran leadership, with four Maroons set to continue their careers at the collegiate level, Jazmine Benavidez, Kaelyn Know, Kat Crowley and Liv Maldonado. Their commitment to the grind has paved the way for this historic season.
The Maroons enter the playoffs battle-tested, having capped off the regular season with big wins over rivals like Bowie and Westlake. The momentum is real, and the grit this team has shown in close games makes them a dangerous out for anyone in the bracket.
Loyal Forever. Let’s go Maroons!
