The Austin High Maroons Cheer team is among the best teams in Central Texas. The Maroons varsity team competes in cheer competitions and is active supporter of every Austin High athletic team.

Coach Marissa Garcia is a proud Austinite and Austin ISD alumna who cheered for 8 years in both competitive and sideline cheer. She was also a member of her high school dance team, serving as Social Officer her senior year. During her time on the team, they earned multiple awards, including a National Championship.

Shout out to Austin High alumni and first cousins Emory Blake (’09) and Zay Jones (’13), who went from playing for the Maroons to impressive careers on Saturdays and Sundays.
Emory starred at Auburn winning the 2010 National Championship. Zay became the all time FBS leader in career ...receptions with 399, before going on to a long NFL career.
