Austin High Volleyball Prepares to Defend Their District Championship in 2026

For the Austin High Maroons volleyball team the road back to the 2026 state tournament begins now. After a historic 2025 run that saw the Maroons capture the 26-6A District Championship (over Dripping Springs, Lake Travis and Westlake), Austin High volleyball then was within two points of the 6A State title in their championship match against Southlake Carroll. Coach Woods has officially solidified Austin High as one of the premier volleyball programs in Texas. While the memory of that fifth-set battle against Southlake Carroll in the state final remains fresh, the focus has shifted entirely toward the 2026 campaign and how to get back to finish the job.

The 2026 schedule features a gauntlet of top-tier tournaments and non-district matches designed to prepare this squad for another deep November run. Following a season where Austin High sent elite talent to play Division 1 ball at programs including USC, Arkansas, and Texas, the Maroons are far from rebuilding. Coach Woods has the roster stocked at every level, pairing a battle-tested group of upperclassmen with a highly anticipated freshman class that is loaded with volleyball talent.

The Lady Maroons volleyball program has proven it can play head-to-head with the best teams in the country. The 2026 is loaded with many of those teams from, every Maroons fans needs to come out to the Austin High’s Roosevelt Nevins Gym this fall to support these athletes as they look to defend their district crown and finish the job at the state level.
