Maroons Golfer, Braydon Pratt, to 6A State Finals

The eyes of the Texas golf world are on White Bluff Resort this week as Austin High junior Braydon Pratt tees off in the UIL 6A State Golf Tournament. Competing on the challenging New Course at Lake Whitney, Pratt isn’t just representing the Maroons; he is solidifying his place among the elite junior golfers in the nation.

Texas 6A golf is widely considered the toughest high school classification in America. The field at White Bluff is a “Who’s Who” of future PGA talent, featuring top-ranked recruits and AJGA champions. Braydon enters the tournament as one of the premier players in the Class of 2027 and during the State Championship has vaulted up among the top 25. His performance at the UIL Regional Finals already proved he can go toe-to-toe with the best.

The rise of the Austin High golf program isn’t an accident. Under the leadership of Head Coach Nick Lebo, the Maroons have transformed into a perennial state-level threat. Coach Lebo’s strategy focuses on more than just the swing; he has built industry partnerships and integrated professional-grade training into the daily routine of his athletes. This “business-minded” approach to coaching has clearly paid off, as the Maroons are now consistently mentioned in the same breath as other Central Texas powerhouse programs.

Braydon’s journey to State has been fueled by the world-class resources now available at Austin High. The program recently celebrated the opening of the Ben Crenshaw Golf Academy Practice Facility, a project that stands as a testament to the community’s commitment to golf excellence. Named after the legendary Maroon alumnus and two-time Masters Champion, this facility allows our golfers to hone their short games and ball-striking on-site, a luxury few urban high schools in the country can claim.

Loyal Forever.
